A quick and easy home made ice cream, that is ready to eat in less than 30 minutes.
60 g (1/3 metric cup) of brown sugar
a pinch of fine sea salt
175 ml (1/2 metric cup) of milk at least 3,25% fat
750 ml (3 metric cups) of cream 35% fat
75 ml (5 tbsp) of maple syrup
5 ml (1 tsp) of vanilla extract
This recipe requires an ice cream maker.
Before starting, read your ice cream maker manufacturer’s instructions.
In a large mixing bowl combine the sugar, the salt and the milk.
Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add the cream and the vanilla extract and stir well.
Turn the ice cream maker on.
Pour the mixture into the freezer bowl of the ice cream maker, and let it process until the mixture looks like a soft ice cream.
Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and place it in the freezer.
All the ingredients should be chilled.
Place the empty airtight container in the freezer before starting making the ice cream, it will prevent the ice cream from melting while transferring it from the machine.
