A delicious vegan granola with loose, crunchy texture and maple syrup flavour. The addition of dried fruits gives it an extra taste and a beautiful look.
This recipe will make 650 grams (approximately 3 metric cups) of granola.
200 g (2 metric cups) of old fashion rolled oats
50 g (1 metric cup) of wheat bran
150 g (1 metric cup) of hemp hearts
10 g (1 tbsp) of flax seeds
30 g (3 tbsp) of sesame seeds
100 ml (1/3 metric cup) of maple syrup*
75 g (1/2 metric cup) of golden “Sultana” raisins
60 g (1/2 metric cup) of dried cranberries
a pinch of fine salt
In a large mixing bowl combine all the dry ingredients except dried fruits and salt.
Pour the maple syrup over the dry mixture and stir to coat thoroughly.
Transfer the mixture on a baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
Bake in a preheated oven on 150 ° C (300 ° F) for approximately 15 minutes or until crispy and lightly toasted, stirring once halfway through.
Turn the oven off, open the oven door and leave the granola in the oven to cool down a bit.
Roughly chop the raisins and the cranberries.
Transfer chopped dried fruits into a mixing bowl add the salt and the warm granola mixture.
Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
Cool before serving or storing.
Store in an airtight container or a jar.
*The quantity of maple syrup may vary depending on its sweetness.
